HI! I'M BART
Having been active for many years as both a lead data scientist and a senior manager of AI teams, I've had a front-row seat observing the struggles organizations have with Artificial Intelligence. The potential for AI most leave untapped is huge, and the missed opportunities often come from a recurring set of problems and misconceptions, some fundamental, others practical - and those stories fuel the podcast. Whether I'm crafting organizations' AI strategies, shepherding data science teams toward brilliance, or transforming hard business problems into practical, client-facing AI solutions, in my work I always aim to maximize the long-term value that is drawn from AI. This challenge is as much about technical excellence, as it is about safe use and about creating narratives around AI and Machine Learning. I enjoy this communication immensely, through this podcast and website, as a speaker on AI, and as a teacher, setting up trainings programs within companies but also teaching at academic institutions.
About the podcast

I notice daily that AI is overwhelming people and they struggle to seperate what really matters from the fluff, the hyped-up stories filled with half-truths. Our AI leaders should be able to communicate the key points, and I believe some plain storytelling will help. In this podcast, I will use stories to deliver some essential truths about developing an AI reflex within a traditional company. Not every company is a Google or a Facebook, and that changes the practical reality of AI: what makes sense, what the opportunities and headaches really are, and which of the screamy headlines about AI are worth paying attention to. The stories I share are all stories that I have used to good effect when speaking to leadership or training the workforce at large, but of course they offer just one place to start your own thoughts.
